The VCM8002V5031 Wi-Fi communication module allows the upgrade of VT8000 series Room Controllers to support networking communication using the IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi) wireless local area network.
VT8000 series Room Controllers are capable of being retrofitted in the field with an accessory communication module, which enables the controllers to be integrated into a wireless network. This approach provides the flexibility to add network communication strategically, when budgets allow, or when building management requires the change.
The Wi-Fi module allows VT8000 series controllers to communicate using BACnet/IP, and can be commissioned, updated and configured by using a built-in web-based commissioning tool.
Suitable for both retrofits and new installations, the WI-FI Card is a snap-in module that adds essential capabilities to VT8000 room controllers:
BACnet/IP Connectivity, email notifications, alerts and high system performance
- Communication over BACnet/IP is faster than wired BACnet MS/TP. Room controllers are thereby instantly recognized, and messages are transferred rapidly.
- VT8000 connects directly to the BMS over BACnet/IP.
Easy Integration
- The WI-FI Card is integrated into and is powered by the VT8000 room controller.
- With WI-FI onboard, the room controller connects to a BMS without requiring additional cabling or a gateway.
Greater Added Value
- The Wi-Fi card substantially improves costs, reducing time spent on the initial job site and installing additional products.
