5 Ways Innovative CO/NO2 Sensors Cut Project Costs

Posted on Friday Jul 24, 2020 at 11:30AM

A recent study released by BP indicates that global demand for energy is expected to rise by 37% from 2013 to 2035 in spite of recent volatility in energy markets and more sustainable energy research, consumption and generation. In turn global emissions are projected to rise by 1% a year to 2035 or 25% over that period.

Extended exposure to NO2 and CO include decreased concentration, nausea and most dangerous respiratory issues.  The EPA designates primary standard at 100ppb (parts per billion) averaged over an hour.  The current national average range from about 10-2 ppb. However in more confined spaces with heavy traffic or extended exposure or increased emissions such as parking garages, services garages, sally ports or loading and unloading zones these levels can reach dangerous levels quickly.

More people, more spaces, and more spaces with people, vehicles and elevated emissions, means the need to monitor dangerous gas levels and automate ventilation to adjust ppb levels will continue to grow.

What if there was a way to monitor these levels in a way that actually cut overall project costs for projects such as parking garages, sally ports or similar structures?

CO/NO2 Sensors

The GWN Series innovative design from Veris Industries does just that. The GWN features a modular, field adjustable design and increase flexibility for easy integration. With removable sensor elements the current series offers both NO2 and CO sensors.

NO2 Sensor

NO2 Sensor for monitoring spaces where diesel power engines are used including but not limited to diesel vehicles or generators used in spaces such as parking garages, vehicle bays, loading zones and/or sally ports

CO Sensor

CO sensors more commonly used for monitoring spaces where gasoline engines, gasoline powered furnaces, gasoline powered water heaters, gasoline generators are present.

5 Ways the GWN Series of CO/NO2 Sensors cuts project costs:

GW_Expanded_Numbered

1) Eliminate the Guess Work:

Status indication LEDs & Relay outputs provide low, high, and sensor end-of-life signals

2) Hot Swap the sensor to save install time and future maintenance cost:

Easy sensor replacement with removable element

3) Adjust to the application on the fly:

Field selectable output & setpoint allows installer or technician to adjust to application, instead of having to purchase multiple products

4) Add flexibility and freedom to your installation schedule:

Removable Terminal Blocks allows for installation to be parted out or unit to be removed with easy for maintenance or sensor replacement

5) One product fits the need for a wide array of projects:

Standalone, or integrate into a control system via 4-20mA, 0-5V ,or 0-10V with relay, or relay only.
